A couple of weeks ago I was asked by my friend Nelli Huie to come onboard a short fashion film she was DOP on as a camera operator. It was for Amber & Indigo, a local lingerie company that celebrate the alter-ego. The collection is called Ice Queen and Nelli had a suitably glittery and icy production design idea. She custom built the set with Jake Underdown the night before and the result was just breathtaking.
“We wanted to create a crystal world for our Ice Queen that defied any ‘Ice Queen’ clichés, but played on the idea of her being tough as ice and as soft as snow” said Amber & Indigo's designer, Bonnie. “The team strung up 60 metres of hanging crystals from a custom-built rigging to create the structure for this ice crystal playground. We worked with multiple cameras and our beautiful model Lorelei to bring it all to life”.
Rebecca Romanin was the hair and makeup artist and she created a stunning look for the film.
This project was an absolute pleasure to shoot and I think the results speak for themselves!
